I am loving this style. Is it possible to get this effect in unreal engine I wonder? Would make an awesome style for a full on game that's for sure. What was used to make this?

ChrisQuay responds:

Thanks so much!! All made from scratch in Blender, with textures done by eye in Aseprite. Not the most efficient, but plenty of fun!

They convert it into pure happiness from the look on their faces LOL this is great.

Tisbore responds:

Ty!

This was on my wishlist and I forgot! I gotta go grab a copy now thanks for reminding me :)

azulotus responds:

YES! Have fun!!!!!! :D

I was sitting here trying to think of how to make this work in unreal engine or something. I don't see why it couldn't be done. Someone already showed a way to keep sprites facing the camera etc a while back too basically doom style or whatever. Some basic geometry to layer background sprites over and it should look like this.

IllusionOfMana responds:

Ive been using Unity Engine to work these up. Its not hard at all, not very computationally demanding either. I'll drop a preview of the lighting system in the future.

That was always one of my favorites by him lol. This is a great take on it I like this one a lot also.

DonaldLPatten responds:

This is one of my favorite artworks of his too :)

Welcome to the old man club LOL bout to finish my last projects of my 30s though... I always liked the part where a gate opens in the cupboard and they get the giant excited eyes look.

SuperPhil64 responds:

Early happy 40th! That part always gets me. A lot of games back then had human vs monster storylines but very few ever really let you explore where they live/what they do when you're not at war with them. Especially liked how as you change things in the past it changes how the monsters view you.

I'm loving this.

MrRubel responds:

Thank you!

I love it but I too cannot figure out the dude on the far left lol.

CobGoblin responds:

Thanks! He's an OC I haven't drawn in awhile with a TV as both body/head. Was kinda hard to get right at this size, probably gonna workshop it more!

This right here is fuckin legendary! I love it :)

maruki responds:

Thanks a lot!

There are so many reasons this piece is amazing. I never got into nier but this work here speaks for it's self.

Ioruko responds:

Thank you so much! I hope some day you'll give it a try, it's a mind blowing story
